In recent years, my country has further promoted the “speed-up and fee-reduction work”, vigorously promoted the speed-up and upgrade of broadband network infrastructure, and provided solid support for stimulating effective investment and consumption, and giving play to the leading role of new kinetic energy such as the digital economy in economic and social development. The development of broadband network has also handed over a beautiful report card: as of the third quarter of 2019, the national fiber broadband users accounted for more than 91%, broadband users continued to migrate to high-speed, fixed Internet broadband access users with access rates of 100Mbps and above It has accounted for 80.5% of the total number of users; 4G users account for 79.1% of mobile phone users, and these indicators are all in the forefront of the world.
A few days ago, the Broadband Development Alliance released the “China Broadband Speed Status Report” (issue 25) for the third quarter of 2019. The report shows that in the third quarter of 2019, the average download rate of my country’s fixed broadband network reached 37.69Mbit/s, an increase of 6.3% from the previous quarter, an increase of 12.7Mbit/s from the same period last year, and an annual increase of 50.8%; my country’s mobile broadband users The average download rate when using the 4G network to access the Internet reached 24.02Mbit/s, an increase of 11.9% over the same period last year. Relevant data shows that my country’s fixed broadband user experience rate is increasing rapidly, and the mobile broadband network rate is also steadily increasing, and network speed has achieved remarkable results.
The work of “Double G and Double Promotion” proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is also progressing steadily. The “Gigabit City Construction Indicator System” has been released to the public, which will promote my country’s fixed broadband to enter the Gigabit era, and the mobile network will accelerate the upgrade and evolution to 5G, all of which are network speeds. The promotion has laid a solid network foundation. The achievements of my country’s broadband development are directly and comprehensively reflected in the broadband network speed. From the continuous monitoring of my country’s broadband network experience rate by the Broadband Development Alliance, it can be seen that whether my country is fixed broadband or mobile broadband, users’ network speed experience is fast. Steady improvement.
This report also released the rankings of broadband network-related speeds of various provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), major cities and basic telecommunication companies across the country. In terms of fixed broadband download rates, Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin are among the top three in the country, and Shanghai and Beijing have taken the lead in exceeding 40Mbit/s, followed by Jiangsu and Henan.
In addition, the report also released in the third quarter of 2019 that the average first-screen presentation time of fixed broadband users in my country was 0.89 seconds, and the average download rate of online videos reached 24.66Mbit/s, both of which have increased to a certain extent. The broadband access rate compliance rate continued to remain above 100%, in line with the requirements of the “Internet Access Service Specification”, and the change was relatively stable.
In the national ranking of major cities, Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, and Tianjin are among the top five; among the basic telecommunications companies, China Telecom has a maximum of 38.20Mbit/s, followed by China Mobile and China Unicom. In terms of 4G network download rate, the 4G network users in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu ranked the top five in the country in terms of download rate. Among telecom operators, China Unicom’s 4G network users had the highest download rate.
