October 21, 2019 Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced the launch of a new series of 3.0 V ruggedized ENYCAP electric double layer energy storage capacitors, the 235 EDLC-HVR ENYCAP, for energy harvesting and backup power applications in harsh, high humidity environments. Vishay BCcomponents 235 EDLC-HVR ENYCAP capacitor is the industry’s first device with a service life of 2000 hours at +85 °C and a maximum rated Voltage of 3.0 V. After 1500 hours of 85 °C / 85% relative humidity live test, moisture resistance reach the highest level.
The capacitors released today have twice the service life of standard electric double layer capacitors, are maintenance-free, and offer very good design flexibility. Capacitors are highly resistant to moisture and can be used in a variety of industrial, renewable energy, and automotive applications, including smart meters, handheld electronics, robotics, solar panels, Electronic door latches, and emergency lighting.
235 EDLC-HVR ENYCAP capacitors are available in 15 small form factors from 10mm x 20mm to 18mm x 40mm, with high power density and capacitance values from 5F to 60F. The device is RoHS compliant, capable of fast charge and discharge, and is available in a through-hole package.
Samples and production quantities of the 235 EDLC-HVR ENYCAP capacitors are available now, with lead times of six weeks for bulk orders.
