During VinFast’s Global Electric Vehicle Day at CES 2022, VinFast announced a new growth strategy and unveiled a complete lineup of electric vehicles covering five market segments.

VinFast is taking a major step towards a sustainable mobility future following its 2021 debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, with the company announcing that it will end production of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles by the end of 2022. VinFast will focus on the development of pure electric powertrains for its vehicles. This bold move makes VinFast one of the first automotive companies in the world to switch entirely to pure electric vehicles and cements its position as a leader in the global electric vehicle revolution.
While aiming to become a pure electric vehicle manufacturer, VinFast officially launched a series of pure electric vehicles: three models in the ABC class, VF 5 (A class), VF 6 (B class) and VF 7 (C class) ); and two models in the D and E grades, the VF e35 and VF e36 (introduced at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show), now renamed the VF 8 and VF 9, respectively. The deletion of the prefix “e” (short for electric) confirms the company’s insistence on the development direction of pure electric.
The five electric models are all designed by world-renowned Italian design houses Pininfarina and Torino Design, and they are impressively modern and impressive.
Eco and Plus versions of the VF 8 and VF 9 models will be equipped with Level 2+ autonomous driving capabilities, and Premium versions will be equipped with Level 3 to 4 autonomous driving capabilities. These models will also offer smart services, including smart home, mobile office, in-car shopping, in-car entertainment, and many other convenient and advanced features to create exciting experiences for every journey and everyday life.

At VinFast Global Electric Vehicle Day, the company also officially announced retail pricing for the VF 8 and VF 9 in the U.S., Europe and Vietnam, as well as ground-breaking pre-order offers.
The initial price of the VF 8 is $41,000 in the United States; the lowest price in Europe is 36,000 euros, the price in Vietnam is 961 million VND, and the initial price of the VF 9 is $56,000 (US), 49,000 euros (Europe) and 1.312 billion VND (Vietnam). Each VinFast EV is covered by a 10-year warranty or the first 200,000 kilometers (whichever comes first).
Notably, for a 3-month period from January 5 to April 5, 2022 (PST), VinFast will be launching an exclusive membership program called “VinFirst – Pioneers Tribute to Pioneers” for early birds Bookers are offered a variety of incentives and benefits (see appendix below).
VinFast is the first electric vehicle company to apply blockchain technology to receive orders and confirm ownership. There will be many other incentives for eligible customers in the U.S. to join the VinFirst program in the future. From April 6, 2022, all early bookings can be refunded, forwarded or transferred.
In addition to the shared pricing policy, VinFast also announced an innovative battery rental program that will offer customers two subscription plans: “Flexible” (minimum subscription for 300 miles/500 kilometers per month, 301 Miles/501 km for an additional fee) and “Fixed” (unlimited mileage). Across markets, the monthly cost of driving a VinFast EV is roughly the same as driving a gasoline-powered vehicle. In addition, VinFast will cover all costs of battery maintenance and will replace the owner’s battery free of charge when the charge and discharge capacity falls below 70%.
The pre-order campaign for the VF 8 and VF 9 models officially kicked off on January 5, 2022 at 5pm PT in Las Vegas, USA.
