Beijing, China, May 20, 2020-MathWorks recently announced that it has donated US$1 million to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to Fight COVID-19 Fund. This fund was established to respond to global actions to fight COVID-19, and the total amount is now 250 million U.S. dollars. The fund is committed to funding mainstream scientific research institutions to develop the most promising diagnosis and treatment methods and vaccines to prevent the spread of the virus and help patients recover as soon as possible. In addition, the fund also focuses on protecting some of the most vulnerable people living in Africa and South Asia from the direct impact of COVID-19, while helping their countries prepare for future epidemics.

· Donated US$1 million to the US Agency for Foreign Aid Cooperation (CARE) to support the organization in investing the necessary resources to protect vulnerable people around the world from the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. The US Agency for Foreign Aid Cooperation is providing sanitation supplies, handwashing stations and clean water to help stop the spread of diseases, especially in refugee camps and camps for displaced persons where social distancing cannot be maintained.
· Donated $285,000 to 57 non-profit organizations in the western suburbs of Boston. Each organization received a donation of US$5,000 to respond to the urgent needs they are committed to alleviating, including family assistance, food shortages, and youth development.
