Konka releases future screen layout in Micro LED field

Konka released two APHAEA future screens, one is APHAEA’s first Micro LED series product Smart Wall, and the other is Konka APHAEA Smart Screen A5 series.

On October 31, Konka released two APHAEA future screens, one is APHAEA’s first Micro LED series product Smart Wall, and the other is Konka APHAEA Smart Screen A5 series.

Among them, Smart Wall adopts ultra-precision mass transfer technology to realize the transfer and bonding of nearly 100 million micro-level Micro LED chips, and point-to-point drive to achieve precise control of each pixel, with high color gamut and high definition brightness, high brightness, high contrast and other advantages. The 4K version is priced at 1.68 million yuan, and the 8K version is priced at 8.88 million yuan.

The Smart Wall series can also realize the free combination of different sizes and resolutions from 118 inches to 236 inches, 4K to 8K, and any Display ratio in a modular form. This means that users can freely combine Micro LED modules. In addition, Smart Wall also utilizes the local Display function of Micro LED, allowing users to freely switch between local and panoramic images. At the same time, the Smart Wall series is also equipped with an independent 8K chip, which realizes 8K processing from signal input, processing, and display, and supports high-speed, low-latency 5G transmission.

Konka APHAEA smart screen A5 series adopts borderless technology and adds an OLED secondary screen at the bottom of the screen. The main screen is used to play content, and the secondary screen is mainly used for interaction. It can not only push multiple information such as time and weather at any time, but also act as an IoT control center to control home appliances and build a new smart home ecosystem.

The AI smart eye on the APHAEA smart screen A5 series adopts an industrial-grade camera, which further extends the TV AI function on the basis of multiple effects such as ultra-high wide-angle, super starlight dark field, and low noise. In addition to automatic lifting to protect user privacy, AI Smart Eye can also support 6-channel high-definition video chat, remote monitoring, distance recognition, AI fitness, fall monitoring, pet recognition and other multi-scenario applications; in terms of sound quality, APHAEA smart screen A5 series has Automatic hidden soundbar, separated two-channel bionic acoustic design forms surging surround sound.

As the evolution and upgrade of the APHAEA series, the APHAEA smart screen A5 series is equipped with a new panoramic AI 2.0, which optimizes more scenarios and performance of remote voice, and realizes continuous voice recognition, no need to wake up, multiple rounds of dialogue, etc. In terms of smart control, remote control, cross-device linkage and family photo album functions realize full-scene intelligence.

Konka Group stated that in terms of R&D investment, the investment has increased year by year, with a year-on-year increase of more than 20% in 2018. R&D is aimed at cutting-edge fields such as AI, IoT, 8K, 5G and new materials. As one of the important channels in the future “5G+8K” era, the new Micro LED display technology has also become the focus of industry competition.

Professor Shuji Nakamura, the father of blue LEDs and Nobel Prize winner, said: “Micro LEDs can be applied in a wide range of applications, covering handheld devices, wearable devices, AR/VR, TV, video walls and other fields in the future. The huge market for LEDs will exceed $70 billion.”

To this end, Konka announced in September this year that it plans to invest 1.5 billion to establish Chongqing Konka semiconductor Optoelectronics Research Institute to carry out research and development of Micro LED technology. At this press conference, the screen, 8K video processing chip, panoramic AI 2.0 and Yiyou system carried by Konka APHAEA future screen are all independently developed.
